Born and raised in Augusta County, Virginia, Marlana joined FMI in May 2006. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and holds an MBA from Liberty University. Also, a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with double minors in Economics and Missions.
Marlana's life goal has been to Glorify God and to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Financial planning is a very personal and practical way of making that difference. She enjoys being a financial ‘gatekeeper’ offering guidance and trying to make the complicated a little less complicated. She uses a pragmatic, disciplined, and conservative approach to money and wealth.
Believing that knowledge is power, for almost a decade, Marlana has done a monthly educational series for the firm’s female clients titled CoffeeTalk, Smart Money for Women.
Once an avid athlete (volleyball, softball, CrossFit), now in her free time she enjoys the serenity of a view, good food, and fine drinks. With her husband Ben since 2004, together they enjoy traveling to Pawley Island and watching local college and professional sports. She is a member and actively involved at Bridge Christian Church.
